Easy.

Avalanche is the only d20 publisher that insists on depicting scantily-clad women on *every* single cover, with no sign of stopping.

It is a cheap marketing ploy for young men to purchase their stuff. Well, it is the only way one would ever purchase it, when considering their poor grasp of all things d20 and this screw up.

Avalanche... bah.

[EDIT: I made a small error... it seems that out of 14 d20 products, there are actually TWO books that don't have loads of woman-flesh on their covers. Still, two out of 14.]

I see your point, and I agree with it. I criticized Avalanche's art because it really isn't very good. If they're going to go the "Vargas" or "good girl art" route, they should get some really good artists for it, because otherwise it just looks lousy.

Scantily clad women only bother me when there're no scantily clad men on the covers. WotC doesn't have this problem, as several of the iconic men are definitely worth looking at.

My only gripe involving scantily clad women comes from Mongoose's Quint series. I haven't seen their newer Q Books, but I hope the art has improved.

I bought QRogue first, and was appalled at some of the art. I didn't even read the book for a while because of the poor impression I got. (I suppose if I hadn't asked my comic shop dude to order it and had then flipped through it, I would not have bought it.) In the meantime, I passed over Cleric when I flipped through it at the store. Finally gave Rogue a good read, liked it, and bought Wizard, but still, I couldn't believe that with the good artists they'd accumulated that they were still using filler from that guy whose art training seems to come soley from comic books. I can't read his tiny signature, but try QW page 76. Is it a naked man with a belt? Or did spandex show up in a medieval fantasy setting? See also QW pg 20, 77, 78, 106, 107, and Vampirella-Spawn on pg 118. 120 is probably the only drawing of his that I like, and the shading is still half-wrong.

Sometimes I think a drunken monkey gets hold of the issues right before they are printed. Whacked on Night Train, he adds all sorts of typos and awkward sentences.

Almost! The worst thing I could say about MEG is that some of your fonts are not to my liking ( and too many different fonts on the same page ) and some layouts/pagination need improving ( side text too close to boxed text in some cases for example )

Also, you should probably charge more too. 128 pages is defintely worth $19.95 VS. $16.95!

Did I just type that? Am i Crazy?
