They try so hard but they're just not that good a species: weak mechanically, not what people are looking for in dragon people, Proud Warrior People trope saddle.

wings would get it nuked by dm in less than 5 penta seconds.
tails yeah that is odd they lack them.
stocky lizard man is more which bit is the problem?
breath attack is implementation thus is not something easily argued for

I wonder if they just didnt want to deal with giving out a Tail attack for a core schmorp or something?

not everything with a tail needs a tail attack worst case make it a feat and be done with it.
