D&D 5E Companion thread to 5E Survivor: Species

See, there are different kinds of Warforged.
Sorry, I meant "Tortle."

(Or any of the other species that only get one entry on the list, while others get 8 or more.) I really enjoyed what Eberron did with Warforged, and I think they are the best of Mr. Baker's contributions to D&D lore. It feels unfair that they keep getting shuffled aside.

Sounds pretty close to the 5E D&D game to me...

Seriously though, you're precisely right...some of these options are at an unfair advantage. (I wrote a blurb about that in the first post too.) I don't know why Wizards of the Coast created a dozen different flavors of Tiefling but only one flavor of Aasimar, but that's the direction they took.

Its almost like they didn't have this thread in mind when designing D&D races, like talk about short sighted!/jk

A popular approach, it would seem.

So for all of the Humanity Haters, what is your motivation? What do the Humans have/lack that other species on the list don't?
I hate humanity and I hate being human, plus I want anything interesting to win after this it is just removing elves.
You know guys... I think we need more Elves.
one of these days I need to get around to explaining why I hate elves.

Why are elves so popular, anyway?

In BECM, they were the only choice available for wanting to play a "sword and magic" character--there was no such thing as "multiclassing." So I could kinda understand the allure back then. But now, every character can have swords and magic, and they have several ways of getting them (feats, multiclassing, subclass options...) and multiple styles to get them in. So why do they keep adding elves to the game?

Because they are a power fantasy of 'we are better than you'. Its practically part of the core identity of 'elf' to simply be 'better than everyone else'.

this is part of why I hate elves they get to eat the magical and mystical slot whilst being arrogant and have a dull aesthetic they are just the worse.
