Compensation for non-raging barbarians?

What about a wrestler barbarian?

You could grant stuff like unarmed strike/improved grapple/stunning fist + an improving ability to grapple with larger creatures/dodge improvement to AC.

Throw in some abilities to do impromptu bullrushes and throws & there you go.

A CUltural Warrior

I use a template for a cultural warrior in my home brew game that allows me to change up a class to fit certain features of each culture. I used the Samurai from OA as a mold. Initially I used the template to create a class for a barbarian tribe that did not rage, exactly what you are seeking. Here is the class at a glance:

Tribal Warrior
Hit Dice d10
Skill Points 4/level
Class Skills: close to ranger
Class features
Bonus feats at 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, and 20th (7 total)
Endurance at 1st level
Uncanny Dodge & Improved Uncanny Dodge
Good BAB
Good Fort, poor Reflex & Will
medium armor and shields
simple and martial weapons

I have run the class with another solid fair GM as the player, and it is balanced.
