Complete Adventurer Core Classes

First Post
In the current preview, the new core classes were revealed: Scout, Spellthief, and Ninja.

See, I told you it would be ninja. The only thing I wonder is whether they create something of their own or recycle the rokugani ninja (I think the former, and I hope they're doing a better job then with the samurai).

Scout - nice thing, though we'll have to see how different it is from rogue or ranger.

Spellthief - sounds really intriguing.

I'd bet good money that the Ninja is the one in Dragon 318. (Pirates Ninjas and Dinosaurs).

The others are brand new, and the spellthief is the one I'm looking forward too.

They cannot really use the Rokugan ninja, since they had to make a portion of the book OGC then. The ninja was not in Oriental Adventures, but in Rokugan.

I'd assume no spells and less of a fighter class, as a start. Due to the name, I'd assume that its ability are more terrain-based than anything else.

I only hope that it won't be a "mere" rogue with arcane spellcasting. ;)

I'm actually thinking that the Scout may be very similar to the Scout class in SWd20. Most of the abilities(Trailblazing, Heart, etc) haven't been ported over to D&D and would work very well.

I think that, legally, they could use the Scout class from the Kalamar's Player Handbook, if they wanted so (since KenzerCo makes official D&D stuff, that is reviewed at WotC, and is allowed to use non-OGC D&D material, I suppose it would go both way). It would be very interesting if they did.

As for the Ninja, they can also use the one from AEG, but in doing so, they would have to comply with the OGL for this one, like they did for the two CC monster in the back of the MM2. So, I doubt it.

I hope so, that Ninja class was pretty good, IMO

Infiltrator? I really like that class, but I don't think it has enough of its own flavor to stand in one of the Complete books. It's pretty much a hybrid class, taking abilities from several different classes (including Druid, Rogue, and Barbarian). I believe Internal Compass is their only unique ability.

The ninja will be appropriated soon thereafter for their upcoming book, Libris Ninjitsicus
