Complete Adventurer - sounds good

I don't think WOTC has released a "bad product". Some have been weaker than others, and some I simply didn't need, but there are none that I find totally useless. Everything has some value.

The Hero Builders Guide was worthless...It was nearly a word for word reprint from Dragon articles. It kind of ticks me off when WOTC uses Dragon as tool of the R&D department. I'd like to see stuff in Dragon that won't reappear in a WOTC book. But I imagine that the licensing agreement with Pazio makes that happen a lot.

Back on topic of the thread...like Buzzard I'm an LG addict and will probably get the Complete Adventurer when it comes out. I play Legend of the Green Regent too and might play the Scout class there.

This is a very long-standing tradition. Before Dragon Magazine even existed, when TSR were publishing The Strategic Review, we had material from there get incorporated into the official rules.

Issue #1 of TSR had Gary's Random Dungeon rules... which were later published in the DMG.

The Illusionist, Ranger, Bard, Barbarians and many other elements of D&D first appeared in the pages of Dragon or TSR.

Cheers!

The Hero Builder's Guidebook was my first 3e buy (before the PHB even) and I enjoyed it thorougly. If it was mainly reprinted Dragon material, I wouldn't know, since I haven't bought a Dragon Magazine since 1994 (wow! 10 years!).

Right on!!!

New spells! More prestige classes! And two more base classes!

Oooooooh, I hope we also get more feats!!! (crosses fingers)

ROLLS EYES

If that had happened, we wouldn't have Forgotten Realms.

Dragon, like any magazine, is dated material. They won't be reprinted, which makes it hard to acquire. If the desired material from Dragon is printed in a commercial product, it can be reprinted in the near and far future.

Besides, we don't know if Paizo is planning to do another archive CD-ROM.

I'm just hoping the ninja is nice and generic like the one from the 2e Ninja's handbook. Little more than a blend between fighter, rogue, and ranger, for use as any kind of sneaky blade-bearer, without having to multiclass like mad.

I'd love to remake my original sneaky, viscious pyromaniac reptile-lover I used the 2e ninja class for.

... of course, you could just make a multiclassed fighter/rogue/ranger.

Given the eminently mediocre CW samurai, I'm guessing that the CA ninja will be basically a rogue with a few supernatural powers like shadow jump and hide in plain sight.

Nah, it has to be more like the ninja in Hollywood films, such as American Ninja, Beverly Hills Ninja, and The Three Ninjas.

After all, it is supposed to be a de facto "westernized" version.

Yes, yes, I think you're right. I will revise my prediction, to say that there will be much flipping out and killing of people. They will also be mammals.
