Alright, whose got the Queen reference ready to go eh?

Man, I'll wait to see how Complete Mage is but it really looks like they're starting to hit bottom of the barrel. "Uh... we need something like the Complete... Complete! Yes, that's it! The Compendium of Complete!"

In what way? It may be odd to publish companion books to "Complete" books, but honestly, Wizards needs to publish something, and if it isn't 3.5 products, what would it be?

The system still has corners left to explore. I'd rather have them do that as well as possible before replacing the system.

So can I assume this book is aimed at paladins and their ilk? When I see the words "champion" and "divine" in one sentence, that's what it sounds like.

I'm still waiting for the untouched areas in FR to be covered (Lantan, Nimbral, Sossal). Oh, and I'm also waiting for my 'Merchant Prince' book (buying, selling, economics that make sense in D&Dland, comprehensive rules for PC merchants/innkeepers/caravan-masters/shipping captains). I still don't see a 3.5 AQ book yet. More big adventures (a la Red Hand of Doom) would be appreciated.

Just sayin'.

There are indeed a lot of corners left for them to explore.

Why are they rehasing concepts that they've already covered?

Hell, they could do Races of the Elves, then the Compleat Ninja, then the Compleat Ninja Drow.

I'm saying where are books to integrate material like Barrier Peaks to a long term campaign (add the Sheen from Dragon, some Steampunk Options, etc...)? Where are the books on magical prisons? If you're talking expansion of existing ideas, where are the updates to Arms & Equipment Guide or Oriental Adventuers? Heck, where are the Feat and PrC compendiums?

There's a lot to do and maybe Complete Mage will blow me away but it seems more and more unlikely.

Given its title and the fact that it is related to Complete Divine, I'd guess that this book focuses on characters of any class that are specially devoted to a deity.

Assuming AQ means Arms & Equipment Guide, just one of these wishes comes true - there's a lot of adventures, and apparently big ones, in the line to be released.

How does the name "Complete Champion" prevent them from exploring new things? As much flak the first Completes got for being "simple reprints," they also tried to explore new stuff. And I don't see how these new Complete books could be rehashing stuff unless they outright reprint a lot of stuff. More likely, they will provide new options using familiar tools (spells, feats, etc) where they don't explore new angles. Or provide support for other classes that fit the bill that are not from the Core books (as Razz likes to demand). The only rehashes currently are the X Compendium series.

The Feat and PrC compendiums will be coming. Just be patient. The OA update was in a Dragon Magazine, and kind of in the Complete books (and yes, I'd rather have a full book). Technology and Magic could be kind of seen as Urban Arcana (d20 Modern). The stuff you (not you as in you, Joe, but as in you, the customer) want might well be in the pipelines, in the works, or in the planning stages. But a lot of that is niche material, which is always a risk to release. Wizards is taking these risks, but it can't take risks 12 months a year.
