Complete Champion

Complete Idiot: The Guidebook to Fighters and Barbarians

This 224-page hardback focuses on the two classes that have historically had the lowest per-capita intelligence scores. It covers a plethora of feats, including "Horse Grip" (allows the character to wield a weapon no-handed), "Food Fighting," and many others! It also includes the Songless Bard--a prestige class that specializes in improperly using witty reparte in such a way as to confuse foes--and brings back the Frenzied Beserker...since, well, it fit with the rest of the book.

I forgot to mention that I heard about Complete Idiot from a friend whose uncle's army buddy is a janitor over at WotC. He was in Army Intelligence back in Korea, so I think he's probably trustworthy.

You know, I hope Complete Champion is the book that finally makes divine character attractive to play. Complete Divine, IMO, was hampered by trying to update material from the (uninspired) Defenders of the Faith.

But then, I'm an optimist.

I think the name's pretty good, though.

Cheers!

Not being funny Merric but what is it about people who need books to play an "attractive charcater to play"?

Sure it's nice to have cool options handed out by Wizards or whoever or not!!! I've had a great laugh just role-playing characters; the abilities in a set book just let you do whatever really.

Personally I think if you want, (not you Merric), to slate a book let's take a look at the DMG with it's real crap selection of prestige classes that don't cater equally to all classes across the board.

Hopefully we can all get some decent material out of this Complete series.

I'm also quite looking forward to this one. Of course, I'll wait and see what details crop up. Until then, I will remain fairly hopeful.

I even don't mind the title. Perhaps I am unwell. Hm.

IOh, and I'm also waiting for my 'Merchant Prince' book (buying, selling, economics that make sense in D&Dland, comprehensive rules for PC merchants/innkeepers/caravan-masters/shipping captains).

I would buy this in a New York minute.

I am really hoping that this time round they include some material so that characters who don't join Divine classes can still manifest some aspects of their faith. It seems an obvious thing to do, and means we can avoid multiclassing to Cleric just to show 'holiness' (or its opposite).

"Complete Champion" is probably the "Complete, part deux" book that most interests me. Unfortunately, that's because Complete Divine has almost no material that I actually want to use IMC. So, I'm looking forward to "Champion" as a replacement, not companion, to "Divine".

And, "Complete Champion" isn't a bad name. It more says "fighter" than "cleric" to me, but I see where they're coming from.
