Okay, I'm sure many folks have read about this by now. I'm not looking forward to the 36 PrCs (although I'm sure they'll be a few good ones in there), but the guardian familiar sounds cool and I like the fact that it doesn't just seem like a class splatbook - they are trying to concentrate on all classes that deal with combat, which would be all of them.

We all knew that this was going to be part of a series but now it is confirmed. So we'll probably see something on magic next. I wonder if they'll make something like the old 2e Creative Campaigning book for this series. Besides the old Arms & Equipment Guide, that was my most used and favorite 2e book.

I wonder how many of these PrCs we've seen, and that they're updating for 3.5. Some of them desperately need updating; it'd be nice if WotC did a series of updates on their site.

True -- I'd be really upset if I bought and all the PrC were re-writes, though. I understand they're busy at WotC, but I also would like to see 3.0->3.5 rewrites on the website.

That being said -- I think the modified core classes, the familiars, and the other bits of mechanics will be very useful. I'm hoping one of those modified core classes is a battle-wizard of some sort; someone with a cleric's BAB, maybe reduced arcane spell failure in armor, a bit more weapon proficiency, and slightly altered spellcasting progression... I know it sounds a lot like a bard or an eldritch knight, but I think they could make an arcanist without the bard abilities, and with access to 6-7th level Wiz/Sor spells at their highest levels as something core.

I'm also interested in the specialized fighting styles... :D

As yes, I forgot to mention that. I am very curious as to what this section will contain.

As for some rewritten PrCs, I wouldn't mind a few but I didn't like many of the 3e ones to begin with.

I agree, but it is not bloodly likely.

Why give away something for free when you can "update" it and sell it as a hardcover splatbook?

BTW, yes I am WotC whore too. You can be sure that the Complete Warrior's Splatbook will adorn my bookshelf.

Because... it builds customer loyalty when you give your customers an easy service for free; if everything you do for your customers costs them money, they will sooner or later look elsewhere for a company that provides the little perks.

Now, what we're asking for is by no means small -- WotC has put out a lot of PrC that could easily adorn this new splatbook as 3.5-updated, but I think that would piss off a lot of customers if the book contained no new PrCs and only updates. Now, if a few of them were updates in the books, and a few more were part of a web enhancement for the product or billed as a special offering for the website.

50-60 pages of PrCs is way to much for me out of a 160 page book. I cancelled my pre-order and will probably wait for a chance to thumb through it.

I doubt it will be that many pages of PrCs. I'd say closer to 40-45. I can't see the book being over 1/3 PrCs...

This sounds like the warmage from the Miniatures Handbook. d6 HD, light amor proficiency, simple weapons (and a few others, I believe) proficiency, and class abilties that reduce spell failure.

But, back to TCW, the guardian familiars sound interesting, and I don't mind PrCs that much. I'll definitely give it a look-through if I get the chance.

Demiurge out.
