Comprehensive Lava rules?

For example, if "dying" is defined in the usual way (as the transition from a "living" state to a "non-living" or "dead" state) then what happens when a non-living character falls (or is pushed) into lava?

Good point. Also, since 4e is basically about beefing PCs and nerfing monsters so the PCs don't die, will these rules even apply?

I wish you guys would hurry up and make another edition so we can have bitter arguments about which ones better.
Well, I don't think we're all going to be in the same room, drunk, and eating sandwiches again till Sammichcon 2008, so you're going to have to wait till after August.

Of course, since it's OGL, there's nothing to stop you producing your own product and incorporating F&B:tCGtLMaSR into it. Just make sure you get your Section 15 correct...

It's . . . unbelievably lame. A bunch of guys giggling about their imaginary lava rules. Reminds me of my grade 9 boys on a sugar high or something.
Uh-oh - sounds like someone's got a lump of grump in his rump!

Whew! I was worried that folks had forgotten that gaming is serious business.

Thank for the heads-up Shortman.

Completely weak rules. Surely having fire resistance 50, for example, would get you a save?

Also the rules are ambiguous. If you teleported into lava, you wouldn't die.

I believe the rules are unambiguous on this point.

Perhaps that will be in the Errata or Companion that is, no doubt, forthcoming.

Unless you could somehow teleport and levitate at the same time, you'd almost certainly fall, even if only a tiny fraction of an inch. Therefore, you'd die.

Also, lava is *not* fire. Therefore, fire resistance/X would have no benefit.
