Comprehensive Lava rules?

It's . . . unbelievably lame. A bunch of guys giggling about their imaginary lava rules. Reminds me of my grade 9 boys on a sugar high or something.

And if those grade 9 boys on a sugar high fell into lava, they would die. No save! ;)

Now imagine, if you would, pushing draconians into lava. They would not only die, they would go through their death throes. Nobody dies like a draconian! ;)

Hey, on a serious note, I really appreciated this PDF. Life hasn't been too kind to me of late, and this PDF has really made me laugh. So thanks, guys. Sometimes it's good to put aside all the rules, and just laugh.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to push a bunch of politicians and lawyers into some lava. Maybe Mialee and some Teletubbies as well. Hehe! :D

I'm very confused. There's nothing imagery about the rules. They're right there. I playtested them. I'm right there on the playtest credits.

Granted, my character didn't actually happen to fall into any lava, so my playtest contribution was less robust than some

BUT!!! At least your character got a save!

Dude, that's unneccesarily insulting.

Post pushed into lava.

This is not a sugar high. This is a sammich high. Get it straight before you criticize, Shorty.

Y'know, there is one glaring editorial gaffe. There's all these celebrity endorsements, and then sticking out like a sore thumb there's this endorsement of some nobody named Hobo.

WTF? Who let that slip through?
I lobbied against it but was outvoted.

Considering that the whole "joke" boils down to "jump in. die. HAHA HAHAHAHAHA" I'm surprised at the amount of work that apparently went into designing that PDF. Too bad to spend so much on something that is, at the end of the day, not that funny. Different strokes and all that, I Guess.

I think it's fair to say that not everyone is going to get the point, and that different people have different senses of humor. To these people I say roll 20d6 save for half... but that rules doesn't have celebrity endorsements. :D

I did notice one glaring omission. "Die" is insufficiently defined. This is originally a problem with the 3.x core rules, of course, but the concept of "dying" plays a huge role in the typical PC's interaction with lava. It should have been addressed in this supplement.

For example, if "dying" is defined in the usual way (as the transition from a "living" state to a "non-living" or "dead" state) then what happens when a non-living character falls (or is pushed) into lava?
