Comprehensive Lava rules?

The repetition of the same joke all over the two threads on this product made me wonder, are all of ENWorld members sock puppets of the same person, a person with a huge amount of free time?
Oh, I get it.

Very droll.

What happens if you fall into illusionary lava? I think that's a big hole right there. Lots of exploits possible.

Shadow, or figment? If it's a figment, you don't die, and thus have incontrovertible proof it is an illusion. If it's a shadow, you get a will save... and if you fail, you die (no save).

If demand warrants, we will release Conversion Guides for all major d20 settings, including Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Greyhawk, The Iron Kingdoms, Kingdoms of Kalamar, Al-Qadim, Glorantha, Middle-Earth and Hyboria. Each of these Conversion Guides will be "tagged" with a unique identifier unlocking our forthcoming "Online Extensions" so that owners of the product can make use of a variety of extensible online applications enabling remote lava usage, online lava storage and automatic lava generation.

If you're interested, please drop an email to notlistening@lavarules.com and we'll let you know what our schedule and pricing plans are.

Thanks for the question!

When will the Kalamar conversion be available. I'm much interested in how lava on Teleene will affect PCs that fall into it.

Also, there's NO MENTION of the infamous South Park DUCK & COVER rule.

Simple. If you fall into lava while ducking and covering you die. No save.

I argued that it didn't apply to old lava, only new lava but he said that since the rules only said "lava" the age didn't matter, and I could just suck it up.
While I had thought the rules were extensive and comprehensive enough to cover just about any contingency, the rampant stupidity of some folks never ceases to surprise me. Explain to your DM that lava is defined as molten rock. Think about it--all rocks were at some point lava. These rules simply don't apply in your situation.

But you do raise a good point, and it is perhaps something to be addressed in the FAQ.

I've downloaded the rules, and have been following the discusssion on this and several other board's regarding this topic. I'm very excited and I know some of my players will be too.

I was wondering this - how best to introduce such a rule to your players? I really don't want to surprise them with this the next time they face a lava or magma situation. I have a couple power-gaming munchkins who I think will challenge me on this, so I want to make sure everything is clear and all questions get answered.

Should I send this out now, or wait until our next game? I'm thinking about adding it to our wiki or maybe doing an e-mail blast. Maybe we could take the first thirty minutes of our next session to discuss.

What do you plan to do?

Thanks!

Just show them the helpful illustrative diagram. It is so clear that the design team must have refined it hundreds of times.
