I will start pretty classical. The Adventurer´s are slaves on a galley underway to Stygia. There they are sold to a noble who needs new toys (Gladiators, girl slaves, servants).

The game is very sandbox style so I will improvise a lot. The characters can escape from the galley, from the slave market or when sold, from a party the noble is having. Then they will have to escape from stygia or whatever they want to do. (getting revenge from the noble or something) I see this game as a big experiment, everything goes, including more adult themes then the usual DnD round. I am eager to see, what my players will do if they really get 100% freedom of choice.

I see a watering hole on the horizon.

Wandering the sands of Stygia can be quite an adventure. Sounds like a good game you have planned.

I have a few groups of players that when I give them the freedom of choice, spend all their time discussing what to do rather than doing.

Other groups are quick to decide and head straight for their goals.

Hope you have the later.

There is a Never Winter Nights user built module called Beneath the Sands of Stygia. It was actually one of my favorite modules I downloaded. If you have the game and the inclination, check it out. It will give you a great feel for Stygia.

Conan RPG Shadizar - City of the Wicked. Reading the module in that boxed set, opened my eyes. I would say it is by far the most adult themed module ever officially printed.

May your slaves bring you honor with their obedience.

Funny. I reinstalled NWN about three days ago because I had the urge to play a halfling barbarian. I will see if I get my hands on the books. My body has some of them I think.

Thanks for the input, I will report in when we start this campaign.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about the Aquilonians to suggest an appropriate race, Nurgle.

Odysseus: Are your Pirate and Thief classes mechanically different from Rogues, or just rogues with a fresh coat of paint?

The pirate was pretty much rogue, dropped sneak attack though.

Thief was similar to rogue. I took away sneak attack, and gave them hidden attack instead. To encourage more thief style combat , some one more confortable putting a knife in back, rather than a stand up fight.
