CONAN RPG cover and details released

Changing the magic system is okay. Changing/ditching alignment is okay. How dexterity affects combat may be okay. Again, I see nothing that makes clear as to why there's no d20 logo on the book. Does it have character generation rules?

Hm. I was going to say something like:

"I thought one of the things you needed to put the logo on was that you be compatible with D&D 3e? Changing the magic/alignment/dexterity, etc. would make the Conan game incompatible w/3e."

But according to the FAQ on Wizards site about the "d20 System Concept," you can have a d20 trademark game w/o classes, hp, etc. They just think that such variations will be rare due to market forces and people taking content that was changed and making converting it back to "standard" d20. I stand corrected.

Oh well, in any case, as someone else said, they probably aren't using the STL in order to have character creation rules in the book. Joe Conan fan isn't going to want to pay an additional $30 (or whatever they are charging for the PHB these days) on top of $40 to play the Conan RPG. I myself would like all the rules to be in one book. Here's to hoping it's good!

Speaking of alliances of necessity, does he not team up with a renegade evil monk in "The People of the Black Circle"? I wonder if those will be playable. I remember that guy almost broke Conan's neck with a brush of his fingers.

As for the D20 license, don't forget all the flap over content restrictions of late. Perhaps Mongoose wants to be at liberty to depict bare-chested women chained to altars?

Well pricey, thats for sure. The cover is alright, Conan's hand grip and bent sword pommel really bug me. They should have had my bud Andrew Goldhawk do this, BUT they probably couldn't afford him:p.

Anyway, hope the interior art rocks.

Is Frazetta still working. I kind of thought he was a 1970's-80's artist.

Frazetta has been ill, which left him unable to work as much as he once did. Here is the biography page from his website (WARNING: many of Frazetta's painitings and drawings are for adults):

The paintings Necromancer is using are from earlier in Frazetta's career.

Wow they are going to support the book with other stuff as well.

I wonder if they could publish mini's to go with it. I have the old TSR ones from the mid 80's.
