I did a playtest for it, too. I didn't care for it, and neither did my group. It's too bad because I really looked forward to it as a way to re-energize my fantasy gaming. But it presents too many changes to the d20 engine for my taste, and we found some of them to be unbalancing. I don't think there are too many adventures published, which could be a problem for you if you want to play the game without crafting your own. If you don't have a lot of experience with other d20 games, then the changes may not bother you. Or, you might have a lot of d20 experience and will love Conan's changes (like some others).
The Road of Kings is excellent, however. It's the only other book I own besides the Core book. If I were to do a Conan game, I would try to run the module CN3 Conan Triumphant from the 1980s RPG with the Savage Worlds core rules and some information from The Road of Kings.
My suggestion to you is to read as much as you can about it before buying the Conan RPG. Here, other message boards, reviews here & elsewhere, and the publisher's web site would be places I would check. You can really get a lot of information this way. I've done it for many books and it usually helps me decide.
