Concerns for the Playtest.

Oh, is that what the balloons are for.

Raising concerns brings up issues and problems before it's too late to solve them. It's like saying "What if a car comes this way?" "Do you see a car?" "No, but that doesn't mean one isn't behind the hill."

Not when there is no supporting evidence whatsoever to raise the concern.

You just end up getting people scared to cross perfectly safe streets.

In the end, no matter what decisions they make, there will be people who will be convinced with a surety that only exists in children and the deluded, that because WotC didn't implement every suggestion in the email titled "Why you guys suck at designing games and how I am helping you" that the entire playtest was a sham.

I have concerns for this thread. I'm concerned that posters won't actually listen to comments being made. I don't mean read to each and every reply made, but if someone makes a good comment, I hope it gets XP.

I want to participate in this thread because I want to make a difference in the future of these boards for the better.

Anyone have any concerns?

I'm not concerned about the play test because it hasn't happened yet. Why worry about a thing that has not even happened yet. Sure they could ignore everything we say and make a crappy game. They could also listen to everyone and make an awesome game. A sink hole could open up under WotC tomorrow and swallow everyone and we'll never get a new edition. Who knows?

I'm taking the wait and see stance.

*shrug* I'll download the playtest. I'll playtest the playtest. I'll send feedback. Later I'll get new playtest material, and I'll download and playtest that too. Repeat. Eventually WotC will publish a game. I will then either buy the game, or not.

There's no point in worrying unless there's something you can do about it.

I would be more concerned with a accelerated release date for DDN. A lot have speculated this is one of the possible reason's Monte Cook left (it would make sense). I could easily see a short public playtest to appease the masses followed by a early release in 2012. Market pressure can force those types of things from management.

Is it accelerated?

They said in the original announcement that the play tests would start in Spring of 2012. May 24th is only a month away from Summer.
