Concerns for the Playtest.

Concerning concern, I'm concerned.

I do not think we have to worry about lack of release as being an immediate pressure. There will be enough setting neutral and 5e preview releases. Board games and new minis game will keep revenue coming in and a dearth of product could build buzz for a new edition. It could also build more sales for Paizo. Recent rumors of re-releasing old material in PDF. are another revenue stream.
I think the playtest will wrap up this fall/winter and a more fixed core ruleset will be released as a starter set next summer. The full monty (monte?) will require another round of PT next spring for a Q4 '13 release of the full Next with options. Pure speculation and PT finding issues could delay all.

Could we close this thread? It is just again a: Paizo did do a Playtest, Wizards didn´t with 4e thread.

"Wizards is just trying to please us while actually fooling us."

This is in my opinion not worth a thread.

The playtest happens in the future. Right now, there is no indicator that we are just beeing fooled. What any company did in the past is irrelevant. My opinion may change within a month. But right now, I also had the impression that this thread serves no purpose than igniting a war...

The difference with the 5E playtest is that it isn't just about making sure the game works or is fun, but also about not starting an edition war tire fire. The 5E playtest will illuminate what people will nerf rage over, and things missing from 5E that people won't be satisfied without. The goals of the edition are to produce a game all the different factions of D&D can enjoy playing, and achieving that will demand more of playtesting than the norm.

Then report it.

There are others here that are engaging in a discussion.
