Connect the gamer

Let's see, for the game I run I have a hosted forum here. All of my players have accounts so they can post and read. :) But if you combine most of them it is still just a handful of posts.

InjuredWyvern
FelixtheWanderer
Russ
Ayla
Kultar
Tormal

They are active players with very little posting on EN World.

Eeralai is my wife and she mostly posts in Ceramic DM threads.
Macbeth plays in my group and with over 2000 posts, he is an EN World regular.

For the group I play in, I think two of the players are vaguely aware of EN World, but don't have accounts. Maxfieldjadenfox has an account, but that is pretty much just to read and comment on Ceramic DM stories. My DM hits the site for news and has been known to browse the forums, but I don't think he has an account. The other player lurks and I recently found out that he does have an account, but I don't know what it is.

So yes, there are a lot of people that game and do not have much presence on EN World. As for how many people I could connect with? That is a tough question. Many of the people I have gamed with are folks I have lost contact with. They might be here on EN World and I just don't know that. But within my current groups, I connect with the screenames listed above.

I can through this little "Degrees of separation" game connect with people, for I have, for one session, gamed with PIRATECAT! :) For instance, I've gamed with Piratecat, who's gamed with Capellan. Therefore, I can connect to people on the direct opposite side of the planet from me.

Piratecat's gamed with so many different ENWorlders that I'm separated by two degrees from half the board. :)

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Kulp? ;)

Me too. And those who haven't gamed with him can probably all trace a path back to him.

He's the Kevin Bacon of gaming.:p

Let's see, I've gamed with Piratecat, which makes me one removed from both Henry and Capellan and a bunch of others. I believe both Sagiro and Kodiak were there at the time.

I've gamed with diaglo/Olgar Shiverstone's and angelsboi's (other) groups. Also GoldenEagle's. That connects me to some people, no doubt.

One of my old gaming buddies, Bo Khallish-Hill, is (as far as I know) in Canada these days. Another (John Main) did some gaming in the 80's and early 90's in Germany. Just in case anyone recognizes the names and would care to chime in. ;)

The problem is knowing who's gamed with whom. I've a strong suspicion that I'm within 4 degrees of Gygax somehow, but I just don't know the links.

"Remember folks, when you Game with someone you're not just Gaming with them. You're Gaming with everybody they've ever Gamed with too. Game safely and wear a tinfoil hat."

Buttercup plays in one of my campaigns and at cons, I've gamed with Wil "d20Dwarf" Upchurch, Ed "SkeletonKey" Bourelle, Tom "tfk360" Knauss, and Ross "DireKobold" Richey. There are quite a few others that I've gone drinking with, but that's a whole different thread...
