Psionics/Gestalt - For all your rediculously crazy character design needs. Cleric/Psions and all the other combos... plus general gestalts... though I think that I just like this idea as a player and not so much as a DM.

hmmmmmmm..... mindblade/fighter..... Actually I've had two gestalt ideas I've really wanted to play for flavor/story purposes, but neither one of them is (I think) really that powerful and would probably be mopped up by the other gestalts. :\ Maybe if it was a "worst of both worlds" gestalt instead of a "best of both worlds" one.... ;) (for the record, ranger/bard as a private eye type, and paladin/monk as a hero of the people/joan of arc meets bruce lee sort of thing.)

Anyway, while lew is fun, I kinda would like to get into a higher level game at some point, so if you are thinking of starting above 1st or doing the gestalt thing, I'd be interested.

The paladin/monk can actually be pretty impressive, with the highest saves of any imaginable character; their main weakness is that absolutely every ability score is vital to them. A ranger/bard, I admit, is quite weak; a ranger/rogue might be better, with more skill points and the sneak attack. Plus, that way you don't have the singing P.I.

Interesting replies here. I'm just going to take a mental tally of where people are leaning, not trying to turn this into a poll or anything.

I'm all for one of the gestalt games. I miss your DMing, CS.

Wow, thanks. I've been in a slump of late, and I've had some other DMs harass me about my style a bit ago, so it's good to hear that I'm not disappointing everyone.

1 vote for General Gestalt.

Eberron or the Oriental Gestalt game both sound very interesting. But I'm game for any of them

1 vote for Eberron or OA, but willing to try for any.

Psi/gestalt would be fun. There's this soulknife/elocator I've been wanting to try.

1 vote for Psi/gestalt.

Eberron would be nice, except that I still don't have the book (I'd have to go by the available preview material and Hellcow's posts).
Dragonlance, I don't know. I have the "core" book from WotC, though.
Gestalt games could be interesting, too.

Pretty much anything, eh? It still might be too early to run an Eberron PbP though, as you have to sort of expect everyone to have the books. That's what I'm thinking at least.

I would be interested in the Dragonlance game... Of course I think you should go crazy on it also and make it a gestalt game too.

maybe a group of Knights of Solamnia, this way you would limit your chaos caused by gestalt classes but with the gestalt rules not all the knights would be the same and each character could have a unique feel to them.

(I've wanted this alot to be honest...)

"Big" vote for Gestalt Dragonlance. Neat idea... very similar to the OA idea, but with a completely different setting and bent...

I call the half-kender Knight/rogue! (I hope I'm not the only person to get the reference)

Vague support for Brother Shatterstone's mention? Are you referencing Progress Quest maybe? Half-Halfing Lowling and all that? Maybe you mean some Dragon Lance reference which I just don't get...

I've never played a Dragonlance game, despite having the book... there's a few things in there that I've been wanting to try, and the Knights have always been partically interested.

And, of course, I have always been a fan of gestalt.

So a bit more support for the above...

I'd be up for another Gestalt game. Maybe I could move my ghost over from the Blasphemy game to the new one? I would really like another chance to explore that concept.

I'm kinda against the idea of a ghost. I try not to have logistical issues with creativity and I try to be as open as possible, but a Ghost makes things a bit harder on me.

i'd be interested in playing either of the gestalt concepts, i think a telepath rogue could be a good trick to run. that monk/samurai sounds spiffy too

Another Gestalt-ish vote.

Notched down... though I don't think it's feasable yet.

Well, I've got a slight leaning towards running the Gestalt Knights of Solamnia game. It has an interesting bit to it, in that this would allow characters to be both spellcasters and warriors, which gives a lot of options that could help flesh out a completed party that can handle all sorts, while remaining knights. I'll have to think on what level is appropriate.

Alright, I've made my decision. It's going to take me a while to piece together everything, but the game will be the Dragonlance Gestalt game. I'm still not sure if I'm going to purchase Age of Mortals or the Modules, but those are just side-bits anyway. I'll try and get the house-rules and basic character creation specifications up tonight or tomorrow if at all possible.

and I'll be closing this one.
