Conversion Request

Arholly

First Post
Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to convert the monsters from the January, 1989 Dragon magazine. They had a fantastic section in there on various different humanoids. They included some like:
Black Troll (Fiendish Trolls with a serious attitude)
Jor (pumped swamp orcs)
Caiveh (Lioned men)
Cynamolgus (pretty worthless, but whatever)
Diurge (Outsiders from the a Material Plane with a serious link to the negative material plane)
Rock Trolls (Outsider Trolls from the Elemental Plane of Earth).

I'd be especially interested in the conversions of the Jor, Black Trolls, and Diurges.

Thanks

1. Black Troll (Fiendish Trolls with a serious attitude)
2. Jor (pumped swamp orcs)
3. Caiveh (Lioned men)
4. Cynamolgus (pretty worthless, but whatever)
5. Diurge (Outsiders from the a Material Plane with a serious link to the negative material plane)
6. Rock Trolls (Outsider Trolls from the Elemental Plane of Earth).

1. add in fiendish template from MM
2. use default NPC-stat array from DMG, make 'em 1st lvl barbarians
3. (no ideas)
4. (no ideas)
5. check Manual of the Planes for ideas
6. Use elemental or 1/2 elemental templates from Manual of the Planes.

just some ideas

1) Yeah, but they do so much more than are just fiendish.
2) Actually, they'd be rangers, but there is more to them again.
5) Well, they give stats for them in the Dragon magazine, so I thought they would be neat.

Problem is (and it's my problem entirely), I don't own alot of the books, so I can't do many of the conversions myself.

i volunteer myself to handle that one. ;) it's one that i was going to do eventually. but it might be a week or 2 before i finish what i'm working on now, so be patient. :)

referring to the black trolls, aye, that they do. a worthy conversion despite all naysayers! ;) check it out!
the work has begun, just take a look in the homebrews forum.
