Converting Creatures from Other Campaign Settings

Ok, I could be persuaded to drop stonecunning if Cleon is right about 1e drow.

My memory did not play me false:

Monstrous Manual said:
Drow move silently and have superior infravision (120 feet). They also have the same intuitive sense about their underground world as dwarves do, and can detect secret doors with the same chance of success as other elves.

Why not just add "speak with animals (subterranean animals only, duration 1 minute)" to the SLA list, which is pretty well finalized anyway?

Does it need the duration? I'd say adding an "at-will—speak with animals (subterranean animals only)" SLA would be enough.

Oh, and should we give them some sort of "speak with spiders" ability so it can instruct its arachnid servants once it summons them?

How about this:

Voice of the Underdark (Su): A drow vampire can communicate with any animal or vermin native to subterranean environments, as if using a speak with animals spell. Even mindless creatures can interpret its commands.

(This will allow it to speak with non-spiders, such as solifugids and the giant whip scorpions from Lost Empires of Faerûn)

I wondered about making it a SQ.

That looks good. We could stick that in as-is, but I'm tempted to make it "Even mindless creatures such as Monstrous Spiders can interpret its commands" just for a shout-out to their arachnid sisters.

That may be a little redundant, but the addition would be ok.

That seems settled then:

So, shall we get back to the venomous gaseous form?

It seems to be a weak inhaled Con-damaging poison. Maybe 1d4/1d4 damage?
