Yup, I wanted to make sure that it would just as well for 20/x3 as it would for 19-20/x2.

Correct. If you build a system which takes this into account (like Jester has), it would work fine. However, just adding straight extras to criticals, as the original post infered would be done, would be unbalanced in favor of weapons which crit more often. This was why I felt a warning was in order.

Go crazy with it. :) We've been using it in my campaign for quite some time, though I recently retooled the chart and simplified the system (used to be you'd roll for location and then exact effect, based on severity, by location- this simplifies it to a single roll, much better).

And I'd love to hear any feedback you have to offer after playtesting it.
