Converting Dark*Matter Creatures

Updated based on both of your ideas.

I'm not that good with Challenge Ratings, but I'm thinking these fellows should have CR 1/2. I could be wrong, though.

I'd think challenge Rating 1/2 is enough. They've got above average stats, but lack the equipment to make much use of them.

Do we want to give them a LA and a "Frogmen as Player Characters" writeup or leave them as NPC only?

Also: should we add a racial bonus to attacks against kinori, seeing as the frogmen regularly engage in raids against them, or not?

The "such combat (or any combat, for that matter) will usually result in the frogmen attacking for a few rounds before retreating into the nearest body of water" bit suggests that frogmen aren't very good at fighting Kinori, so I'll say nay.

Okay, CR 1/2 it is.

And sure, we can give them an "as player characters" section. What would you suggest, particularly on the Level Adjustment note?

EDIT: I also fixed the frogman's lack of a club in its possessions and the fact that I had a numbering error in Water Dependent that actually made frogmen more effective at walking on land during direct sunlight.

CR 1/2 seems right. For LA, I'm just kind of fudging here, but I'll say LA +0. I would think the NA and natural weapon would be worth a point of LA, but they do have a racial HD already. Maybe LA +1 is appropriate, but I don't know for sure.

I was also concerned about the ability bonuses - they've got +4 Dex, +2 Con and +4 Wis, which would make them nasty combat Clerics when combined with their natural armour.

A -2 Int and -2 Cha does not balance that out very well.

Natural weapons, in my opinion, are often over-valued as far as LA goes. Two 1d4+Str claws are not vastly better in melee than a 2-handed weapon.

LA +1 I'd guess.

Bleh, no, I forgot to add it in; that was a mistake on my part, but it's fixed now.

If there are no other problems, we can move on to the xic. Why the xic? Well, it turns out I already had its Dark*Matter stats copied down on a file, but I hadn't posted it in this thread until now.

I'd lose the nonproficiency penalty on the club. Humanoids are normally proficient in simple weapons like clubs, and a -4 penalty is quite a handicap.

Apart from that, I'm happy going on to the Xic.

True about the proficiency for D&D, at least. In Modern, it seems slightly more complicated.

Question, though: is this a racial HD, or should we really do this as a 1st level warrior?
