Hey, 6 miles is ok, too. I just picked a long range. ;)

Hold on, it was its indoor move that was 6 miles, not its sight range.

Hmm, according to the description its tentacles are at least 45,450 feet long, and the big ones can have tentacles twice that length.

I reckon it ought to be able to see at least as far as it can reach (min 8.6 miles).

How about setting the darkvision to a nice, round 20 miles?

Yeah, I assume that it must have eyes (or some such) at the end of each of its tentacles.

Although another option would be blindsight/blindsense with a whopping range.

Works for me.

Probably, but ranges normally start from an edge/corner of a creature's Space, so unless we state something specifically wouldn't it Reach farther than it can see with 8.6 mile long tentacles but "only" 6 mile darkvision?

Let's just make it 10 miles and we're more than covered. :)

I'd be fine with that if you think 20 miles is too much. I wouldn't want you to think these things are overpowered. :p

I've no objections to 20 miles. Let's face it, once you start measuring in miles, it's not going to make much difference in a D&D game!
