Converting Epic Level Creatures

As you like... It doesn't matter too much if we're entirely consistent with the SRD, since it's not entirely consistent itself. ;)

It's consistent with the 3E Beholder which is good enough for me, even though that's not in the SRD.

Updating the Ythog-Nthlei Working Draft.

Incidentally, the attack lines I quoted in post #673 were based on Ythog from before we increased his size to Gargantuan. The Dark King's actual attack numbers are 2 points lower, e.g.:

Attack: Blacklight mace +40 melee (4d6+26) and eyebeam +18 ranged touch (1d4+1 Str); or bite +35 melee (3d6+15 plus venom) and eyebeam +18 ranged touch (1d4+1 Str); or 4 eyebeams +23 ranged touch (1d4+1 Str)
Full Attack: Blacklight mace 40/+35/+30/+25 melee (4d6+26) and bite +30 melee (3d6+8 plus venom) and eyebeam +18 ranged touch (1d4+1 Str); or 4 eyebeams +23 ranged touch (1d4+1 Str)

Did we ever decide whether 1 eyebeam is a free or swift action? I think I'd go with swift.

Ready for the venom?

Venom (Ex or Su???): Any creature that takes damage from Ythog-Nthlei's bite attack must make a DC X Fortitude (or Will??) save or become dominated by Ythog-Nthlei for X hours, as the spell. The save DC is Charisma-based.

That's my proposal, though I'd swap Cha-based to Con-based if we go for Ex. I also think domination is the right way to go here.

I'd make it a Cha-based (Su) effect myself, since it's a charm effect.

It does consistently describe it as a "poison" though, so we should do something with that - maybe have it affect creatures that are immune to mind-affecting powers but affected by poison, but not vica-versa?

Also, the original duration of 1-10 turns is 10-100 rounds, so a duration of "hours" is a lot longer than is strictly necessary. We could go for 1-10 minutes if we wanted to. Plenty long enough for most fights in 3E.
