Converting Planescape monsters

Arcadian Pony: AC 6; Mv 15; HD 4; THAC0 17; #AT 1; Dmg 1d2 (tentacle); SZ L; ML steady (12); Int semi (3); AL N; XP 120.

A strong, thick-bodied pony from the plane of Arcadia, this beast has a light green hide and ears like a rabbit. A single tentacle, about 5 feet long, grows from its chest, just at the breastbone; the tentacle can hold a torch, helping the pony to find its way in the darkness. Though a ponly can’t wield weapons in its tentacle, it can snap it like a whip to inflict 1-2 points of damage. Arcadian ponies will not carry riders.

Uhh, start with pony or war pony physical stats, bump to 4HD, bump mental stats a little for intelligence, add a tentacle?

Here's a proposal: Str 16, Dex 13, Con 14, Int 3, Wis 11, Cha 4; 4HD; +3 natural?

What?

We're doing my little tentacle pony now!?

Freyar's stats are OK by me, although I wouldn't mind increasing the Charisma a bit.

It looks like a Magical Beast (Extraplanar) to me.

I'm wondering whether we could give its tentacle whip some of the benefits of an actual whip, like a bonus to trip and disarm attacks?

Anyhow, here's a rough draft:

I think you're right on the type.

I could also go for the trip or disarm benefits possibly, but I'm a little more inclined to keep the damage dice to 1d2.

I based the damage on a Medium-sized whip, which does 1d3.

A 1d2 just seems too wimpy to me, but if Shade prefers the original low damage too I'll go along without that much grumbling.

Let's go with the lower damage, but the nicer range of combat manuevers. It is a "little pony", after all. :)

Besides, it won't be nonlethal damage like a standard whip, so it's already superior.

I'd love a mini for one of these. :p Maybe I should make one sometime.

Give it trip as a wolf and some similar disarm ability?

Trip (Ex): An arcadian pony that hits with its tentacle attack can attempt to trip the opponent (+X check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the pony.

Disarm (Ex): An arcadian pony that hits with its tentacle attack can attempt to disarm the opponent (+X check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to disarm the pony.

Okie-dokey, I'll agree to cutting the tentacle damage to 1d2.

I was about to suggest Trip and Disarm SAs, but freyar beat me to it.

How about including a +2 racial bonus in Disarm, since a whip grants a +2 bonus to Disarm checks?

Disarm (Ex): An arcadian pony that hits with its tentacle attack can attempt to disarm the opponent (+9 check modifier, including a +2 racial bonus) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to disarm the pony.

Trip (Ex): An arcadian pony that hits with its tentacle attack can attempt to trip the opponent (+3 check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the pony.

What reach are we giving the tentacle? It's 5 feet long so could just about stretch to a 10 foot Reach.

For comparison, whips have a 15 foot reach.

I didn't realize people were still converting monsters for 3.5, cool :D

I checked the Creature Catalog but there's a few Planescape/planar monsters I still can't seem to find conversions for on the internet. Any chance you guys know of conversions for these:
