Converting Planescape monsters

The racial bonus to Disarm is good, though I think it should probably have standard reach.

Oryan, you should check Echohawk's index, which has pretty much everything. Also, if you'd like a conversion done, please just request it!

I actually used Echohawks index a few years ago as a guide to index all 3e monsters. He made a great resource!

Unfortunately, the monsters I listed were not converted to 3e from any published source. I also haven't found conversions of them in the Creature Catalog nor the Planescape monster conversion people were doing on the WotC PS forum years ago.

These were the only 2e monsters that appeared in any 2e planar books (that I know of) that never got a 3.5 conversion. If anyone here could convert some of these, that would be great:

PLANESCAPE MONSTROUS COMPENDIUM APPENDIX 2:
Merkhant (Sect)

IN THE ABYSS:
Ship of Chaos

THE GREAT MODRON MARCH:
Modronoid

DEAD GODS:
Ingress

TALES FROM THE INFINITE STAIRCASE:
Shard
Silver Golem
Giant Crayfish
Valgoss
Slaiyith
Taker of Life
Dark Dweller
Nameless Limbo Thing
Giant Weasel
Hgaun
Kamerel
Maturing Baatorian

THE VORTEX OF MADNESS:
Cyclopkin
Mnemosyne
Themis
Leonis’s Automata – Flyer, Juggernaut & Organ Gun
Vita
Tasked Genie – Artist & Guardian

FOR DUTY & DEITY:
Ring-Worm

Also, since this is a focus on Planescape, have you guys ever considered converting the NPCs from the Uncaged, Faces of Sigil book? I've found a few conversions of some of them, but here are ones that I have never seen a 3.5 conversion for:

UNCAGED, FACES OF SIGIL:
Adamok Ebon
A’kin
Alluvius Ruskin
Autochon the Bellringer
Black Marian
Djhek’nlarr
Estavan
Farrow
Fell
Grixiit, The
Harys Hatchis
Iarmid
Jemorille the Exile
Judge Gabberslug
Kesto Brighteyes
Koe
Lissandra the Gate-Seeker
Ly’Kritch
Milori
Morvun & Phineas
Omott
Patch
Saure
“Sly” Nye
Tarholt
Tripicus
Unity-of-Rings
Verden
Will of the One, The
Wooly Cupgrass
Xideous
Ylem
Zadara

Eventually, we're trying to get to all of them! (Well, not 4e-only monsters because we don't know if WotC would like that.) Any that you want done first? As for the NPCs, I suppose we'll do them if they're worth doing (ie, not just character levels slapped on a monster).

Oryan77,

Welcome! I know we've tackled a few of those (the tasked genies have been converted in the Converting Al-qadim Creatures thread, but haven't made it into the CC yet). You might check Echohawk's Monster Index for some of the rest.

No preference really. Going straight down the list would be fine. That would knock out the stragglers from a few books. As you can see, most of what doesn't exist is conversions from only two planar books (Tales of the Infinite Staircase & Vortex of Madness).

Ah yeah, I guess the NPCs wouldn't really be the same as converting a monster. They probably are just monsters with character levels.

I'll see if I can find your writeups in the Al-qadim thread then. Thanks for the heads up.

Getting back to the Arcadian Pony, added to Homebrews.

Arcadia is a strongly lawfully-aligned plane that leans toward goodness. Since these ponies are slightly sentient, we could change their alignment to "often neutral, never chaotic, never evil" or something else that precludes chaotic or evil alignments. But it is probably fine to just leave them at "always neutral", too.

I think we can keep reach with the tentacle to 5-feet, as it was clearly indicated to be that length.

Skills: 7
Ponies and warponies have Listen and Spot.

Feats: 2
Ponies and warponies have Endurance

How about "Always neutral, often lawful"?

Standard reach's OK by me.

I'm thinking 4 ranks in Listen and 3 in Spot.

As for the other feat, we could go for Run like the SRD horses have.
