Shaman | Cleric (Wis). Every Cleric daily powerset (at least at Heroic) has a conjuration power in it, all of them Wis-based. You are your own pocket set of defenders!

Shaman (Panther) | Artificier (Tinker). One is Wis/Int and the other is Int/Wis. Treat the spirit companion as a clockwork sidekick (with either straight-up teleportation for the summon/dismiss stuff, or else a funky "fold up tiny and return to my belt" ability). This one sounds awesome... I'm totally going to save this thought for my next character.

One thing about hybrids in general - human have a big advantage, being able to pick up a third at-will power.

One idea - a Fi/Ro with Hybrid Talent - Brutal Scoundrel (add St to sneak attack). This character takes advantage of a high ST and Dex, by taking fighter powers specific to light blade that give bonuses for Dex, and Brutal Scoundrel rogue powers that give bonuses for high ST.

I like that build. effective, and makes for a great flavor, the cocky swordsman type that taunts his foes. The only problem i have, and it's not a problem really just opinion, I don't see brutal scoundrel as being as effective or cool (mechanic wise at least) as tempest technique.

An urban ranger (private detective/bounty hunter vibe) who's made a warlock pact with urban fey -- the kind that sit in the rafters (shoemaker's elves vibe). His boon is the ritual 'Speak with Urban Animals' -- crows, rats, pigeons, raccoons, cats, dogs, etc. -- which allows a streetwise check without tipping his hand to the criminal(s) he's investigating. The ritual's a less powerful version (4th level) of Speak with Nature (5th level). It still takes ten minutes and involves inspecting poop to figure out what critters are around, and putting out the right food.

It's my wife's PC. She's just started running him, and so far I've role-played a crow and a rat!

Well, I'm currently playing a ranger/rogue which has some really nice "setup" combinations (minor attacks to setup standards, etc) and of course having a beast companion to constantly give you flanking is pure win.

I've also toyed with fighter/rogue (imagine a "duelist" type) that seemed to work really well in theory. Also been looking at some others, but the one I'm really toying around with is a Bard/Barbarian. Concept is basically something like a scottish bagpiper with a big f'ng sword. :P

I was unsure whether or not it was legit to add multi-class feats to a hybrid, but the character generator let me do it and so I just started playing a...

Human Ranger/Rogue with the Initiate of the Old Faith (Druid) feat.

Very, very, interesting combination so far.

Character is predominately DEX-based with WIS and STR not so far behind. Archery powers from Ranger are great with the Rogue melee capabilities, and then Wildshape will just keep getting more powerful as this progresses.

Horizon Walker as the Paragon choice I'm thinking.

Tempest Fi/Ro hybrid also works, since tempest fighter powers also give bonuses for high Dex.

I'm playing a druid/shaman hybrid right now, with a stalker spirit. I'm level 7 already, and there already seems to be enough overlap in what the powers do that choosing a role isn't really an issue. I'm really filling both roles though since there are no other leaders/controllers in the group. The human extra at-will really helps a lot.

I've also multiclassed wizard, but that was mostly for some skill training and Ritual Caster, but I am thinking of taking on a familiar. I'm gonna be covered in animals.

For extra concept-based fun, check out some of malcom_n's APS (alternative power source) class write-ups. They look like they should be pretty easy to convert to hybrids...

Don't hybrids really beg for you to be a human!... I love humans already but this really enhances the feel of adaptability being the human shtick doesn't it!
