Cool things you remember from some setting of choice

Ok ok - back up here, you've lost us - what context are we talking about? What setting??

Context? I'm talking about Scarred Lands and how sorcerers have more than one bloodline. (IE their magical ability/sorcery power)

That help?

1. They tend to not have an in game effect but I did adjuciate if people wanted them to, they'd have a positive bonus to Cha checks relating to titanspawn and a negative one toward divine races

2. Player's Guide to Wizards, Bards, and Sorcerers.

*chuckle* If only I had the time. ;) But if in the future I do, I'll keep that in mind - so long as I can convert you to a Planescape game in return.

For published settings, I liked the non-Western European, ancient empire, low-tech feel of Dark Sun. My favorite character for play in that setting was Denerii Breezechaser, and elven preserver/thief.

For homebrew settings, one DM that I played with back in Louisville set his game up in a frontier town. The characters were settlers trying to keep peace in and further explore the area. I liked the frontier feel. I also liked his ability to throw out multiple plot hooks in a variety of ways- a board where local posted 'help wanted' ads, rumors picked up by drawing a slip of paper from a coffee can.
