Fair enough. Thanks to everyone for clarifying this issue for me.
 



And, though the answer will probably be "no", you can always ask WotC through their customer service...or perhaps ask them if there was any way you could get the same result through a different means they would accept.

Correct. Techinically, in this country, you aren't even allowed to rip music from cds you own to your hard drive.

You are legally allowed to duplicate, alter, and use content in any way you choose in America, as long as you do not distribute it. You can rip CDs till your heart's content, mix them together, sample them, transcribe them to paper, put them on your phone, etc. It's all perfectly legal. It's called fair use.

What you are not allowed to do is bypass copyright protection schemes.
