Core Book Printings?

Today I bought a second copy of the PHB for my wife. When I got it home I looked in the book, and it has the same material in the back that the PHB I got the first day it was available. Now I realize that there have been several printings of the PHB. How can I find out what the latest printing is (with all the latest errata, corrected typos etc.), and how do I know if I am, in fact, buying that printing? TIA!

The first printing has "First Printing August 2000" on the bottom of the first page wit writing. The second has "Second Printing November 2000".

The first printing has the 2000 Survival Guide in the back, and the second has Sage Advice &c.

The Player's Handbook current printing is the second printing. It would say on the bottom of the credit page (page 2) opposite the Table of Content page (page 3):

"Second Printing November 2000."
