Cough it up - ruling please!

Fighter in the party: "Hmm, maybe the Druid can find some sort of natural laxative. Otherwise, we can keep feeding the goblin some beans and just wait." :D

I think as long as the party isn't looking to abuse a loophole, the whole situation makes for a great comic moment.

Good move by the DM, funny definitely.

If a player asked, I would have just said, You're not sure why it worked, you're pretty sure it shouldn't have. <shrugs>

The balance with this issue I believe is found not in swallowing the small magic items, but swallowing them the second time.. and then the third.. then the fourth...

So, let them have it. It doesn't matter what type of ring it is. You can only benefit from 2 slot-using rings at a time. Peroid.

Most of us thought it was great, and we had a good time thinking of ways to get it out of him. The rogue player was livid though, and thought that the DM was trying to prevent us from getting the ring somehow -- which is why I started this thread. We ended up giving it to the rather dim-witted barbarian(Int=7) and we might have to make a pacifier out of it for when he isn't raging so he doesn't get the idea to swallow it like the goblin(monkey see, monkey do).
