Flumphs are so much higher above ourselves (and the gods for that matters), that it's impossible to evaluate all the implications contained in this clever question.

By whose definition of sentient? Ours, or the Flumph's?

Well, they may have experiences analagous to a flumph- fear, pain, etc.. They seem to exhibit purposeful activities at times. But flumph rights cannot, of course, be ascribed to them on this basis.
