Counter Collection 2

Interesting! The first one was very nice (although I had to glue the counters to thicker cardboard.
Could you give a rundown on the counters inside? Like, are there wolves in there and if yes, how many? Other animals?

Hello Dracolich,

I think the ones from Dragon are on a lighter card in the 8pt. range. Counter Collections I&II are on 12pt cardstock and the entire set is perforated -much better than the old scissor method!

We contemplated printing them onto "wargame counter" stock but that would have put us in the $30 price range and we are not convinced that we could move enough at this rate. They would also weigh a heck of alot more and shipping would go up for all involved in the channel. So I think we will stay with 12pt for #3.

As for monsters: There are 6 wolves and 4 worgs :)

There are also dogs, oozes, manticores and fire elementals to name a few. Actually, there are 3 of each Air, Earth, Fire and Water elementals!

....and one of these....

Here's a quick rundown (although someone at FDP could rectify any mistakes), AFAIK:

- All basic familiars from the PHB (in 0.5x0.5 counters)

- Aranea, Basilisk, Blink Dog, Cockatrice, Couatl, Demon (balor, marilith, succubus, vrock), Devil (lemure, osyluth), Displacer Beast (medium & Large), Dryad, Elementals (air, Earth, Fire & Water), Ettin, Genie (Djinn & Efreet), Giant (Hill, Fire, Frost, Stone, Storm & Cloud), Golem (flesh, iron & stone), Hag (annis, green & night), Hell Hound, Kuo-Toa, Naga (dark), Nymph, Ooze (gray ooze, gelatinous cube), Rakshasa, Riust Monster, Troglodyte, Worg.

- Ankheg, Carrion Crawler, Centaur (male), Chimera, Dragonne, Griffon, Hippogriff, Pegasus, Sphinx (andro), Unicorn

- Drider, Treant

- Bulette, Dragon (blue, bronze, copper, green, silver), Manticore, Wyvern

- Animals: Ape, Dog, Wolf, Wolverine

Plus different sizes of the Dragons that appeared in CC2 (gold, brass, black, white and red)

- Plus 8 dwarves, 14 elves, 4 gnomes, 4 half-elves, 4 halflings, 4 half-orcs and 37 humans, covering a wide range of classes for each race (e.g.: most wizards can double as sorcerors and psions, and some as monks). Humans, spcifically, have several options for each class, covering a spectrum of archetypes (e.g.: knights, templars, sages, thieves, explorers, barbarians...)

Whew!

:)

Anyone care to check this list?

I'm still wondering about why you need so many dogs. ;)

Claudio did the Gnome Combat Miner, and I wrote the Red Smile Assassin, whose name was later changed to Red Smile Death Jester. I also wrote the Brotherhood of Form Idealist, but some of the powers were rewritten by FDP. In my opinion, they improved on my original.

While the counters come on a desent card stock, I have mounted mine on balsa. This makes it easier to pick up and move. [/B]

Being mounted on balsa makes them much easier to use in conjunction with the miniatures, and the drawings have a good fantasy feel to them. Though now one corner of Lunn's game room looks like a mini-lumber yard.

I was hoping for more wolves, but if I peretend the worgs and the dogs and the hell hounds are all wolves, it is nice.

Rangerwickett: the reason you need many canines is that they attack in huge packs, trip characters and then proceed to rip out their throaths. Wild dogs are rabid, too.

More Wolves

Wow, we need to do a counter collection of just wolves!

Seriously though, if you need more wolves -simple, buy more counter collections....... :)

EDIT: I just grabbed my Dungeon 90 and I think it may actually be 10 or 12pt for the tokens which is similar to Counter Collections, but no die-cuts/perforations.

I've been using the first bunch and really like them. I don't have many Mini's and these are a lot cheaper and easier to carry around. I can't wait for Collection 2 to arrive!!
