Plus, you might want to try the battle axe too.
Lightning Strike doesn't deal much in the way of damage and sneak attack/critting with the battle axe should put you near to over the top.

My feelings are that this may break one of the cardinal rpg rules. To deal with out of game conflicts, out of game.
Would you tell the player a minute or two before your plans, so you know you're not hurting feelings?
