couple o questions

Hi all, need a little help with a few questions.

1] An adamantine large sheild with a +3 enchantment. What is the Ac bonus 2+1 natural +3 enchantment = 6 or,
is the first point of enchantment ignored?

2] If you use a sheild bash do you suffer the huge minuses for fighting with 2 weapons or just -4. I read the minus 4 somewhere but cant remember where.

The Adamintine gives a +1 enhancement bonus, and enchanting it give a +3 enhancement bonus. Because they're both the same type, they don't stack and the total enhancement is +3, for a +5 total to AC overall.

The adamantine's enhancement bonus does come into effect if the magic is ever lost however, such as times when the weilder is in anti-magic fields.

the -4 to attack with a shield bash is usually the result of carrying the shield in the off-hand. This assumes it's not being wielded as part of a two-weapon fighting style. If it is, apply the usual off hand penalties for a weapon of its size (sheilds are small, martial weapons)

A few feats concentrate on allowing a warrior to fight using a sheild. Would this then not be two weapon fighting albeit with a weapon and sheild?

I'm not entirely sure which feats you're talking about.

The main one that comes to mind is Shield Expert from SnF. This doesn't make you any better at fighting with two weapons, it just lets you make an attack with a shield without loosing your AC bonus. You still make all your attacks as though you were fighting with two weapons.


I don't recall anything else on this in my collection, but I could be wrong.

If I am correct a warrior with an attack of +15/+10 using a shield bash would get an extra attack for +11/+6(+7 sheild) and lose the shield bonus for that round. Correct?

If he has no ambidexterity, is making no attacks with a weapon in his on hand and the shield is in his off hand, yes.
