Cowboys and Aliens: Worlds at War

Howdy folks!

Well, it's been quite a while since I posted around here. I've been extremely busy with several projects, a few of which are my own, but most of which are for clients.

One of the big clients that I've been involved with for a while is Platinum Studios - who have a property called Cowboys and Aliens. Some of you may have heard that it's being developed into a film and so, Platinum (after seeing my own project Baeg Tobar), approached me about putting together a whole world based off of Cowboys and Aliens, titled "Worlds at War". So, while I'm not actually producing a whole lot of artwork for this, I am in charge of directing the entire project.

Essentially, while the first book takes place in the US, Worlds at War picks up all around the world as the many different alien houses invade different parts of the world simultaneously. I think there is allot of potential for telling some really solid stories and we are working really hard at keeping things historically accurate.

You can see the website and the actual comic as we post it here - http://www.drunkduck.com/Worlds_at_War_Prelude/

Anyway, I'm sure you would much rather see the artwork we're doing for the project than hear me ramble on about it. I'll start with some pages that are already live and then I'll put up some of the concept art we developed for this new project.

Words - Alana Joli Abbott
Pencils/Inks - Rick Hershey
Colors - Daniel Harris
Letters - Gene Kelly

Hey folks,

I found out Jeremy was posting around some of our art and wanted to drop in and show of some of the stuff I did on my end. So, here are some thumbs, sketches, and just the inks for a couple of the above pages.

And here are a couple of the character sketches I did when we first started to get an idea of the characters a bit more.

Thanks! Yeah, we're just getting the story going too, so there are definitely going to be some more exciting things happening soon. I hope to see you around!

I will be... Bookmarked, now I just need to remember to look in once in a while. Just linked it over at the Kenzer boards. Maybe some folks there will like it too.

Thanks! There is actually a Drunk Duck notifier you can download that'll remind you whenever there is a new comic in your favorites posted. So, that might help you to remember. Anyway, thanks allot!

Hey folks!

Just thought I'd pop in and show a bit of the concept work that went into the project. We had a few artists working on it to develop some ideas for various upcoming stories we are planning to be doing.

Naturally, you can see allot of these at the actual site - http://www.drunkduck.com/Worlds_at_War_Prelude

So, here are some of the concepts -

Just read through the whole thing... and while some of the historical bits were off, overall it was a strong effort and well worth the time I spent reading. Kudos to the crew that put it together. I'm looking forward to more.
