CPU Chipset

My AthlonXP 2400+ system is finally on its last legs (2nd hard drive to die in less than a year and I don't want to buy another PATA drive).

I'm building a new system from scratch. I've pretty much settled on the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 for the CPU.

My problem is chipsets. I'm not real sure what the best choice is.
It looks like there are 4 main contenders: nVidia nForce 4 series, nVidia nForce 5 series, Intel 965 series, and Intel 975 series

I'm not interested in SLI (or CrossFire) or overclocking.

What are your experiences with the different options? Which offers the best performance/stability/features?

Thanks for the help.

The stock answer would be go 965 if you have no interest in Crossfire, SLI, or overclocking, and want to save money. The only caveat is that 975 drivers are a bit more mature, so stability favors the 975; also it's typically benchmarked slightly better.
