Bracers vs. Mage Armor. Bracers are way too expensive. I think its much better to take the Extend feat and then get a Pearl of Power (2nd level). So for 1/4 the cost (of bracers +4) you have more flexibility.

Read that long, long ago. The problem is that the CLs make absolutely no sense if you go with that interpretation. Take the various energy weapon enhancements for instance, why should Flaming, Frost, and/or Shocking require different CLs to create? Then take the Pearls of Power, where you have to be a 17th level caster to make both the 1st and 9th level pearls.
The take Monte Cook(the author) saying "Where the heck did that come from? Its not in the drafts."
And you get a 'rule' that doesnt really exist.
