The upper and lower portions of the river have seperate spirits, both of whom are venerated in the city. Kafiir the spirit of the upper river as a bringer of life, and Ulu'Tal the spirit of the lower river as a bringer of trade. The falls have no known spirit.

The Dwarves and Gnomes which in habit the city spend much of their time mining at the rock face, extending the city further back into the cliff and creating tunnels to connect to the outpost at the top of the cliffs

I did read that, but I thought I was clarifying matters a bit more... minerals are mined, then manufactured into the crystals. Is that still contradictory?

Fieary, I see where you are coming from. In that case it is not contradictory. Cheers! :D

The City is also famed for the geo-thermal pools and spas that have become a new industry as a result of enterprising young nobles capitalising on the naturally occuring geo-thermal activities that occur in the immediate vicinity of the City

The towers, bridges, and balconies have given birth to a small group of acrobatic daredevils that love to run, jump, and climb between them. A few times a month they will play a game that looks like "Follow me" or "tag" as they chase each other through the upper portions of the city. They never get permission to do so and while technically they are breaking the law by treaspassing they are so populatr with the common folks that their antics are allowed.

One of the leading 'Players' of these rooftop games is a young man from the Soots named Julio Mecurius. Recently he has become enamoured of 'Ramiette' the daughter of an Aesimar noblemen and member of the Elder Council Hugo Capuletta.
Hugo is not pleased

PS Hugo may be the member of the Elder council mentioned in Domino's post as wanting the Soots land.

The wave of Sorcery that has been coming into the city is mainly gnomish in origin, and all the more frustrating to the established academies because illusion, divination, and shadow magic tend to be the most common types of powers the gnomish sorcerers discover, thus hurting their ability to root out the origin. It is rumored that the gnomes have a deep connection with some of the most nefarious assassin-guilds of the city. It is thought that the magic is a side-effect of the process of turning the minerals into the crystals, but the dwarves display no special powers.

Kids possessing sorcerer talents are left homeless abondoned by families not prepared to deal with their ability. A retired adventure by the name of Melo Fret has used much of his money to start an orphanage for these children.

Yeesh this has grown quickly..... Blast my internet connection for being out most of the day! ......I'll contribute again when I have the time, busy right now....

Every year, the students at the various magical academies put on an exhibition of their works. This is like a science fair / art gallery showing. Those who have created the most interesting or otherwise best magical effects are honored by having their spells made permanent, and placed around various plazas and courtyards for decorations.

Often, wealthy individuals will try to work out an agreement where they can purchase the magical art from the creators, for their personal use.
