D&D 3E/3.5 Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

Wow, that is one Colossal stat block!

Yeah, I was thinking of something along the lines of:

Full Attack: 7 tentacle slaps +45 melee (2d6+15) and 2 slams +42 melee (2d6+7) or wakizashi +43 melee (4d6+15/19-20x2) and 6 wakizashis +43 melee (4d6+7/19-20x2) and 2 slams +42 melee (2d6+7)

That's for the male. Add +1 to all the female's attack modifiers and damage.

Trample should deal 1 and 1/2 times Str modifier. Constrict doesn't list a suggested damage or Str modifier.

For the end block, DR 15/jade?

what did you want it to be, Diminutive? :D

i'll just go with regular Str bonus then, since they do so damn much damage with everything else anyway. ;)

why would that be at a lesser value? because of the rarity of jade weapons compared to the rarity of good-aligned magic weapons?

No way, I was rooting for Colossal+. ;)

No kidding. By the time you are being constricted, you should be thankful!

Basically, yeah. Special material DR is harder to overcome than magic or alignment-based, since a bunch of relatively low-level spells (align weapon, bless weapon, etc.) are available to help overcome it.

OK, remaining concerns…

How many days should it take to grow back a tentacle?

Do all of the DCs look right?

A master of language, it is conversant in the tongues of all lands and creatures of Kara-Tur.

I'd go with the "kraken standard" of 1d10+10 days.

Since Kara-Tur is FR-only and not mentioned in the 3E Oriental Adventures, I'd just give 'em normal languages and maybe mention that they speak the languages spoken in the regions they frequent.

I double-checked all the DCs, and no "whoof" necessary. ;)

Replace "x/jade" with "15/jade" in the male's section.

Otherwise, I didn't notice anything (of course, I went blind halfway through page 30 of their description ;) ).

okay!

The anuchu are sociable humanoids, which meld qualities of both wolves and foxes into their appearance. These forest-dwelling humanoid canids stand about 7 feet tall on average. They have orange fur covering most of their torso, except for patches of white fur on the chest, hands, muzzle, and feet. They have reddish-brown eyes, pointed ears with black tips, brown padded palms and soles, black lips, and sharp canine teeth. They keep a mane of long red hair in varying styles, often with braids and ponytails. These people are commonly referred to as "fox-people" by other humanoids. The average life span of an anuchu is 140 years.

Anuchu are well-dressed and make their own clothes, popular dress including tunics, cloaks, and so forth usually of green, brown, gray, or blue. They very rarely wear armor, though they are well versed in normal tools and weapons. Anuchu communities are composed mostly of mound houses or dens overgrown with vegetation, and similar dwellings.

Anuchu are able to speak Common, Halfling, Elf, Gnome, and their own language. The anuchu can also speak with most canine animals and keep wolves as guardians.

COMBAT
Anuchu are usually a peaceful people, but more than ready to defend themselves and their community. They initiate combat with their longbows, trying to take out opponents at a distance if possible. If forced to melee, they prefer to use longswords, but a few of the more accomplished warriors carry bastard swords. If caught in close combat or otherwise unable to use a weapon, the anuchu will bite instead.

Skills: Anuchu receive a +2 racial bonus to Move Silently checks when in natural surroundings.

SOCIETY
The anuchu deal with other good humanoids in a friendly manner, though they prefer the company of their own kind to that of elves, dwarves, humans, or halflings. Similarly, most races find them too talkative and perhaps a bit arrogant as well.

Some sages speculate that anuchu are related to gnolls. Their size and appearance certainly suggest that there may be a similar history, but their demeanor shows that they are far removed from that savage race.
