Should that be CAN summon elementals of that type? (I suppose cannon would only apply on the nonelemental plane of gunpowder)

The correct spelling for the World-Tree is Yggdrasil.

As for the faerie query, let me look at that other thread and get back to you...

I think the brownie and the boggle are the fey you are looking for.

It's a new type of summoning ability - faster and farther. :p (interesting you should mention nonelemental planes, I'm trying to write up a "synthelemental" plane. ;))

A single one, actually. And, it's... an odd one (paraphrased from the first sentence in my writeup: Few would consider this plane to be more than a tale spun by boastful bards). [/hijack]

The boggle being the purply-black guy with the stretchy arms and such?

OK, let’s just start with the fey we have in the Creature Catalog. That should be more than enough – in fact, we could probably get two articles just from the ones we have there. ;) here are some summaries, take a look through these… we should pick maybe 10 of these to go into the article, and another 4 or so of them (or just all remaining) to be alternates.

Asrai – tiny female water sprites that live in the River Oceanus. They can hypnotize other creatures, but melt when exposed to direct sunlight.

Atomie – tiny sprites that play at night and living in secluded glens. They are very quick on attacks.

Booka – tiny creatures that hide in the homes of humans, and are non-violent. They play pranks on evil creatures.

Bramble – minute evil fey that poison creatures with their spiky armor.

Buckawn – little fellows that use poisoned daggers.

Dobie – brownies that live to help farmers, but are easily tricked

Ekrat – chaotic little fellows that eat magical writing

Faerie Fiddler – fey who can perform magical feats with their music

Flitterling – minute mushroom-living faeries that attack in a swarm

Frost – arctic-living sprites that can use a bunch of cold-based attacks

Gorse – minute fey of exceptional beauty that can cause confusion and use Cantrips

Killmoulis – little brownies that can cause mischief or provide useful services. They are non-violent, but defend themselves with needles.

Leprechauns – small faeries that are well known for the mischief they can cause.

Quickling – evil brownies with an unnaturally high ability to move quickly

Squeaker – petty faeries that aggravate anything bigger than them with tricks, or by throwing objects

Stwinger – nauseatingly cute faeries that like to swing from other creatures’ hair – more harmful than it sounds.

Urisk – satyr-like fey that travel with animal companions

OK, here are the rilmani we’re going to be suggesting. For appearances, the new guys should have the physical properties of the metal they resemble. The original rilmani resembled humanoid such as humans, elves, and dwarves… we could make the new ones like halflings, gnomes, or even goblins or orcs (but with less hair and physical features).
Agreed with the metallic look, but the rilmani in the FF don't resemble a specific race...just listed as "gaunt", "powerfully muscled", or "the size of ogres". I'm not saying we can't go that route, just that we aren't limited by it.

BOZ said:
And as I said before, all existing rilmani have physical weapons that they attack with, and most have a unique supernatural attack form – so I think the newer ones should have them, too.
Agreed.

These are the rilmani agents for the energy planes (Positive and Negative). They are immune to the effects of these planes, and can use positive energy charge and negative energy drain attacks.
These could be little fellas, looking like gnomes. Maybe a mace for these guys?

Hydrargymach

These are the rilmani agents on the transitive planes (Astral, Ethereal, Shadow). They can use ethereal jaunt, astral travel, and shadow walk at will, and have spell-like powers related to these planes.
I picture this fella as thin, with almost liquid appearance (based on its quicksilver origins).

I see these guys with a scimitar or falchion. Quick and graceful, but good at cutting silver cords. ;)

They should probably be able to make their weapons ghost touch.

These rilmani are guardians of the pathways between planes, serving as sentinels for the portals and planar breaches of the multiverse. They patrol the Outlands, and places such as the Rivers Styx (they are immune to its effects) and Oceanus, Mount Olympus, and Ygdrassil (sp?). They can sense and control planar breaches, and have the ability to close and open portals (permanently if desired).
I think these guys should be strong and stocky.

I see these guys with some kind of polearm, since it is a traditional sentry weapon. Maybe a crossbow, too. They should probably summon some sort of heavy armor as well.

Oh, and since we're doing a rilmani article, let's officially correct the oversight of not giving them telepathy. ;)

Actually it was the brownie and the boggart. The boggle is in the MM2.

ahhh… OK. :) well, the boggart wasn’t on my list anyway (but then, neither was the boggle), so no harm no foul.

what I meant, more than anything else, was that they had similar body types – but I think you get that already. ;)

I like shade’s descriptions for the new rilmani just fine, and we can elaborate on them more when/if we write the article. I think the rilmani query is basically ready now.

you bet. ;) remind me of that when it’s time to define the rilmani subtype traits…
