I hope the quickling made it in. I love, love, love fey. In fact, four of my seven pending Dungeon adventure queries feature fey as antagonists, so more fey, especially evil ones, the better.

i may have my doubts, but i'm still hopeful. :) while it would be a disappointment if they didn't make it, seeing the maedar or archer bush, or another of our conversions would still be pretty cool.

The quickling is my all-time favorite fey. I've always been obsessed with speed in D&D for some reason, and they are the undisputed masters.

Then again, I've always really liked cheetahs. :D

B3 was the first D&D adventure I ever owned, so I have a soft spot for the archer bush (I wish the vampire rose had an official 3.5e version). The maedar is the male medusa, right? Other than that, I don't remember much about them.

maedar is male medusa, yes. instead of petrifying, they do stone to flesh so the medusa can eat. ;) also, they can move through earth like a xorn.

while i'd love nothing more than to see our quickling in print, i have my concerns that the editors might find it too "broken" to use. the only thing worse than not seeing in print would be to see it whittled down and less powerful. let's hope the editors wash my fears away by printing it as we wrote it. :)

I just have a quick question for Boz, Shade, and Demiurge, did the Dragon editors specifically ask for you to be contributors to the Creature Catalog or did your contributions go through the normal query process?

The normal query process. We usually "package" our queries (plant monsters, Monsters of the Mind, etc.) and include the caveat "or pick and choose for inclusion in upcoming Creature Catalogs". We've also done the occasional "here's a laundry list of monsters we'd like to do for a Creature Catalog". We've had monsters selected from both methods.

yep. for example, Obliviax (IIRC) came from a general query on plant creatures, while the cave fisher and scarecrow (again, IIRC) came from a query specifically for the Creature Catalog feature.
