Critique my DM (long)

Perhaps...

...you could suggest to your DM that he run a published module. That way he can choose one to his liking (and not feel as though other people are telling him how to do his "job"), and yet end up with something that is balanced.

And sorry if my above post was a little harsh, Reaper...I guess I agree with Pielorinho that you should work these things out with him rather than airing it in public. But since it is now public and nothing will change that, I'm just trying to be helpful.

If you and "Bob" are close friends, I'm confident you can work the whole thing out.

I think this is best. Anyone(no matter how much experience they have with previous editions of D&D) should run(or at least become familliar with) a pre-fab adventure or two before trying to make thier own. You really learn a lot about balance and setting up a good adventure that way.

I'm guessing reapersaurus was hoping for something more "therapuetic" in our responses...just an opportunity to bitch and vent his frustration at how this game went and have us respond with "oh man, that sucks! here is what I'd have done..."

I don't know what this guy is like, so proposing a diplomatic path to solve the problem is really not possible.
