Throwing in my 2 cents, I'd say the title "Crown of the Kobold King" should be more prominent than it is. As is, the Gamemastery Module portion greatly overshadows it, and kind of makes it seem like a tutorial rather than an adventure.
That's a good point.

At first, I kept forgetting the name of the Tome of Battle because it says "BOOK OF NINE SWORDS" way bigger. The title for Tome of Magic is much more clear.

Do you want people to look at the book and think, "GameMastery" or "Crown of the Kobold King"?

I'd try swapping the two and adjusting the sizes.

But at a glance "GameMastery Module" looks more like the title than the brand. But it's just a minor nitpick and my own uninformed opinion. :)

I 2nd this emotion. If I saw this on the shelf I'd assume that it's title was "GameMastery Module".

Oh, and the Kobold's teeth are a bit too snaggletoothed. It needs braces or something. :)

Josh may have said it was 99.8% complete, but that's not quite correct. There's still quite a bit of internal revision that we'll be looking at on this cover (as well as placing the final high-res scan of the artwork in). The title weights (GameMastery vs Product Title) are definitely on the list, as well as color combos.

However, I did want to thank everyone who said that we came up with a cool depiction of the kobold. I worked very hard with the team here at Paizo, and Matt Cavotta, the artist, to create a kobold that was scrappy, but scary. I've always thought of kobolds the way they looked in 1st Edition (not that Sam and Todd didn't create a cool interpretation of them for 3rd Edition). He's based a little on Sam, the world's ugliest dog, who passed away, but he was a Chinese Crested Hairless, and an ugly, ugly dog. Mix that together with draconic heritage, and you've got the GameMastery kobold.

Thank you for all your input, I've read all the posts very closely!

I was just thinking that if you switch the titles and make the GameMastery smaller, you'd also have space for the character levels in the bottom right corner.

"A GameMastery module
for 2nd level characters"

It's tough to get good dentistry when you insist on torturing and killing every dentist who ever makes your gums bleed.

Heh. Too true.

I think the next cover should have a dragon with buck teeth or a medusa with a harelip.
