Cultural comparisons between Eberron & Earth?

I'm going to incorporate some Japanese themes into the Lhazar Principalities, just on a whim.

I was thinking of working in an area with more obvious oriental tones myself. Mainly just because I want to have the equivalent of Chinatown set up in Sharn.

Breland sounds more like England to me: A monarchy with a two-level parliment, one of nobles and one of commoners. And some of the nobles want to do away with the monarchy -- or least weaken it to a figurehead -- and have a prime minister rule the country.

Trick is, I haven't found anyplace in Khorvaire that has more oriental overtones. :/
