Does anyone know what port NWN uses to connect to others? I tried playing multi but couldn't connect to any servers, which makes me think ive got to open the port its trying to use.

NWN uses port 5121.

You can change this in the NWN.ini file, but you only need to do this if you are linking multiple copies to the Internet on a LAN.

EricNoah, i remember you from somewhere...ALFA? Are you a designer?

Hahahahah... Sorry, but that's really funny.
Has it really been that long?
(P.S. You do know what the EN in ENWorld stands for, right?)

Sorry to laugh that is funny. But I guess some people may have come here post Eric..

Well thanks to this thread ( I especially blame Dark Jester), I dusted off my old near forgotten copy of NWN, and found the expansions on sale at a local electronics store. SOU has a much more interesting single player campaign than the original. I actually upgraded my computer for NWN when it came out in 02 and was sort of bummed at the single player campaign.

Well anyway, now that Im hooked again and downloading modules (which have greatly improved in quality), whats up with the ENWorld NWN guild? Anyone play online? Ive been cruising Neverwinter Connections but Id love to play with ENWorlders.

Thanks

The guild the guild... Good question. I'm not sure what’s up. I've been spending allot of time on a persistent world that I'm truly enjoying. :)

I'm glad I could be of assistance. :D

I, too, was disappointed by the single player campaign in Neverwinter Nights, mostly due to its mediocre storyline and repetitive gameplay (nearly all of the quests you received were basic "Fed Ex" missions where you had to retrieve an item and deliver it to an NPC). Luckily, Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark are much more interesting than the Neverwinter Nights Original Campaign. Plus, there is enough custom content being created by fans to ensure that NWN will have lots of replayability in the years to come. Which is good, because other than the Eberron MMORPG, there aren't any D&D games for us to look forward to anytime soon*.

*There is an untitled Forgotten Realms game currently being developed by the same people who made the Two Towers console game, but it's sounding like it will be an action game rather than an RPG.
