Custom D&D dice?

More die ideas:

A d8 showing each moon phase (for when you have lycantrope players)
Many d6 showing conditions &/or buffs, color coded into like groups, Evil Minon has some of these, but nothing specific to D&D/d20
d8 with each school of magic shown
A d12 with different features of an NPC (beard, long hair, spectacles, etc.) A pair with different features would be really nice
A d12 (or more) with different personality traits for an NPC, perhaps a pair with one positive traits and one negative traits
d10 with each color of dragon on it
d12 with each age category of dragon on it
A Difficulty class d8, with DC 5, DC 10, DC 15, DC 20, DC 25, DC 30, DC 35. DC 40 on it.
Greyhawk specific (might make great RPGA Living Greyhawk promos):
d12 with Greyhawk months on it
dice for greyhawk gods, either a d20 (large) with each god's symbol (19 in PHB, would need to add one) OR the six PHB racial gods on one die and the others on a d12 (dropping one, which one?)
A d12 with main greyhawk regions on it (hey, were are you from?)

PS earlier vectored dice shot is attached

I think your stabilization die should be black, or grey-granite, with nine white skulls and either a red heart or a red cross. That would give it a lot of extra oomph, hehehe...

We [Chessex] have some new machines here that allow us to make small print runs of dice with custom designs on them by engraving images onto the face of blank
dice.

I believe that both Chessex and Crystal Caste are now offering that service for making custom dice for folks. I've been to several cons in the past 2 years that gave attendees free dice with the con name / logo on it. I also had a conversation with the Chessex folks at Origins about having some custom d6s done for myself and some friends (if you do more than a few dozen, the price really isn't very bad at all, though we were looking at only putting a custom logo on one face).

I've never seen that 12-sided trap die before. I want one. (I have already have 6-sided trap dice. They're fun. When a PC triggers a trap, you can make the player roll to see what kind of trap it was.)

I really like that one, for some reason. I could have used it back in my Spelljammer days. So many moons, so little time.

Chessex had the machine at Gencon Indy, I think. They were taking orders for custom dice right at the booth, for same-day delivery.

Here's the relevant Chessex page, although the above e-mail has better info

Here is the Customdice.com page, they do custom dice but don't list prices.

I couldn't find a link for Crystal Caste doing custom work. They certainly have nice dice, but they are SO expensive. I'll have to wait on those.

That's a great idea, thank you. Couple of possibilities below. Any other art suggestions out there?

If you take just the skull and drop the jawbone and crossbones, then you would have what I was picturing... Could you make the heart like an indented pip though?

Maybe you're unclear, I'm not the Chessex guy, I'm just posting his mails. So I don't know if it could be, you'd have to ask him. Sounds pricey.

For the hit or miss dice, I would have a bullseye with an arrow on the center for "hit" and arrows to the side for "Miss" with the world printed in one of the bullseye rings along with "20%" or "50%" to distinguish the two. Red printing on a white die, obviously.
