Cypher System Damage

Desh-Rae-Halra. Yes, you seemed to have missed something. The OP ;) I HAVE the Cypher System rulebook. That is what I am using. I missed the damage entries under creatures/NPCs. I will look there next time, instead of relying on weapon damage. That was my error.

And speaking of prolonged gun fights. It was ;) Both sides were wearing armor. Clones v PCs. Those clones do not often go down in 1 shot like the movies ;) Their armor actually works. Who would have thought? ;)
Evenglare. Thanks for all advice, and reading all posts ;). It does seem static damage is the go. 5E has static (with dice for rolling listed in brackets. I have been rolling only b/c I roll the d20 anyway. In large groups I sometimes go to static).

A good trick is to not give extra damage. Cordell suggests an enemy that does little damage but moves you down the damage track with say, a poison. People will freak out if they're suddenly 1/3rd dead with tons of stuff in their pools. Enemies don't crit, an enemy crit would be a player accidentally rolling a 1-2 on a level 1 monster and dying.

I don't think i will suddenly have the armored clone troopers dealing poison damage. I kinda wanted to keep things quite normal. Not sure people are reading the OP and all, but I see that I used weapon damage as opposed to creature damage, which would have hurt the PCs, but still minimal. 1 point of damage on a hit.

I just got what you meant about the level 1 thing. You mean any missing a level 1 would be a crit (or +2 damage on a 2). Good point. I might just leave for now. Still, when armored it appears not much worries you even when PCs are armed with rifles and blaster pistols.
