This is a discussion thread where we can list (and argue about) our favorite spells, by school and level.

This one is dedicated to Necromancy spells: What's your fave, and why?

Animate Dead. Given enough time and tricks, make small armies for both meat shields and scouts.

False Life. Heals me for long enough to get out of combat and sleep off the rest of the damage.

Avasculate, I guess. Pretty disgusting and painful thing to do to a person, and tears through half their current hp in an instant w/o a save to resist. Avascular Mass is very similar except it also turns the victim's bloody, pulpy innards into a web-like effect to hold down and horrify his friends.

The Mother Cyst feat list of Necrotic spells.

They contain versions of: Scry, Dominate, Suggestion, Create Undead, Tenser's Transformation, straight damage dealing and the total eradication of a creature's soul.
